Private Coaching FAQs
Yes. Every session is tailored to your current ability, confidence and riding goals. Private coaching is suitable for newer riders learning the fundamentals through to experienced riders working on advanced techniques, technical terrain or race preparation.
A 2-hour private coaching session costs £120, a 4-hour session costs £230, and a full 6-hour session costs £340. Some venues have an additional travel charge, which is shown clearly before you book.
We’ll begin with a bike and equipment check before discussing your experience and goals. Your coach will assess your current riding, identify the areas that will make the biggest difference and build the session around the skills you want to improve.
A 2-hour session is ideal for focusing on one or two specific skills. A 4-hour session gives us more time to develop several techniques and apply them on the trails. A 6-hour session is best for a complete coaching day, advanced progression or race preparation.
Sessions are available at a selection of Scotland’s best mountain biking locations, including Carron Valley, Cathkin Braes, Aberfoyle, Glentress, Innerleithen, Dunkeld and Fort William. Available venues and any travel supplements are displayed during booking.
Yes. You can book either one-to-one coaching or a group session. Group coaching is ideal for friends, families or riding partners with similar goals and riding abilities.
Yes. Both mountain bikes and electric mountain bikes are welcome, provided the bike is safe, in good working order and suitable for the terrain you’ll be riding.
You’ll need a suitable mountain bike, a correctly fitted helmet and clothing appropriate for the weather. We also recommend gloves, water, snacks and the tools and spares you would normally carry on a ride.
Use the online booking system to choose your session length, venue, date and available start time. You’ll then provide your rider details and complete payment securely through Stripe. Mountain biking takes place outdoors, so sessions normally go ahead in typical Scottish weather. If conditions are likely to make the session unsafe, PEAK MTB will contact you to discuss the available options.
